While both of these two underdogs have consistently been a top eight team in the European scene, they have never been anywhere near as good as mYinsanity and Dignitas. The fact that both Team Liquid and Fnatic could climb to the top of their groups with 2-0 finishes is a testament to their hard work and improvement as a whole. Its also an incredibly positive sign for the state of the competition in the region.As competitive as the group stages were on the first day, its a little insane how one-sided both of the semifinal matches were on Friday. Looking at the first matchup, mYinsanity had pretty good control over the entire match until a minor blunder late in the game allowed Fnatic to grab an objective, push towards a keep, and simultaneously damage the middle fort to under 10% HP, which led to the win.The next game in the series also saw mYinsanity take control, only to lose it as the mentality of the team waned from the epic throw in Game 1. By Game 3, mYinsanity were so tilted that it did not remotely look like the same team that had terrorized Europe in the past, and so were completely destroyed.The second semifinal series of the day proved to be just as one-sided, with Team Dignitas dismantling Team Liquid in devastating fashion. While Team Liquid did see some early glimpses of hope against the juggernaut that is Dignitas, its six-minute boss strategy early on in Game 1 was poorly executed and essentially gave Team Dignitas a 1-0 series lead just after the 10-minute mark. This speedy win really built momentum for Dignitas and helped it steamroll Team Liquid 3-0 for a ticket to the Grand Finals.Fnatic and Dignitas have never been more close in skill than they are right now. Historically, Dignitas have been far and above Fnatic. During group stages, however, Fnatic were able to beat Dignitas 2-1 in an extraordinary series that featured a 40-minute Tomb of the Spider Queen match. With these teams seemingly neck-and-neck heading into the Grand Finals, the atmosphere was intense from the start.Game 1 saw Dignitas with a small, but firm lead the entire match. This was mostly due to Fnatic drafting a relatively low damage team with KaelThas as its only assassin, as well as Fnatics Pontus Breez Sjogren having a tough time landing his Mosh Pit ultimate on, well, anyone. Game 2 saw Fnatic in the lead until Dignitas made an epic play, rushing Fnatics core and stealing a win. Game 3 was one of the most exciting games of the day, lasting over 32 minutes, with Fnatic ultimately edging Dignitas out thanks to some insane damage dealt by Dob Quackniix Engstr?m on Lunara, for a 2-1 lead.Game 4 was the turning point for the down-but-not-out Dignitas squad. It took care of business in the draft and had a domineering presence in the game, sealing the win in just under 20 minutes.Finally, as we approached Game 5, Fnatic made some peculiar draft picks in both a solo tank Diablo and a Valla selection for its assassin. Both of these lackluster picks were proven to be perfectly acceptable in the capable hands of Fnatic, but a grave mistake was made late in the game when Fnatic failed to secure level 20 prior to contesting the objective. This allowed Dignitas to secure the Immortal and open up a direct route to the core. Later in the match, Dignitas used that open area to sneak three of its members down to the core and start attempting to end the game. Meanwhile, Dignitas Joshua Snitch Bennett, on Falstad, managed to fly to his allies to help them all-in the core and clinch the series.With that move, Team Dignitas earned the 2016 DreamHack Valencia title, and, more importantly, secured a spot at the Fall Championships later this year, with a whopping $1,000,000 on the line. He also knows their work is far from finished. "We realize this could put the 14 team in contention to make the Chase," he said. "Thats not good enough." Meaning, he wants to not only make the 12-driver field, but know hes a top contender to win another championship. His 48th career win pushed him to 16th in the points standings and aided his cause for a wild-card spot. The two drivers in the 11th to 20th spot in the standings with the most wins earn a slot in the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship. Stewart is the only driver in those spots with a win. "Its been very hard when you have the start of the season that we had," Stewart said. "You start questioning, you start doubting, you start looking for answers that you dont have the knowledge to diagnose. That makes you feel very helpless at times." Seven-time Dover winner Jimmie Johnson appeared to have the car to beat, but jumped a restart and had to serve a pass-through penalty. Johnson argued over the radio and stayed on the track before he finally hit pit road. With Johnson out of the picture, Montoya and Stewart battled for the lead the rest of the race. Jeff Gordon was third, followed by Kyle Busch and Brad Keselowski. NASCAR said Keselowski, the reigning series champion, failed post-race inspection because the entire front of his No.dddddddddddd 2 Ford was too low. This was crew chief Paul Wolfes first race back after a two-race suspension for unapproved parts. Stewart tested at Dover and hoped that would help at a track thats given him fits the last few years. He hadnt finished better than 20th in his last four races at Dover. He might not have gotten this win had Johnson not been penalized with about 19 laps left. Johnson jumped ahead of Montoya out of the restart box and NASCAR quickly threw the black flag. "We certainly had the winning car," Johnson said. "Well have to come back and do it in the fall." Montoyas only two career Cup victories came on road courses. He tried to play the spoiler after Johnsons penalty but just didnt have enough to hold off a hard-charging Stewart. "The car was a little bit too much of a handful at the end," Montoya said. "We tried. I think it was too hot on the tires the run before and our left tires were completely gone." Johnson, who kept the points lead, finished 17th. "He just wanted to get the jump on me," Montoya said. "He just jumped it too much. I would have tried to do the same." Matt Kenseth and Martin Truex Jr., both in the top 10 in points entering the race, made early exits because of engine issues. Pole sitter Denny Hamlin finished 34th after he hit the wall late in the race.
