Former Wallabies assistant coach Glen Ella believes Australia head coach, Michael Cheika will still be having nightmares after their 3-0 series defeat to England in the summer. ??Ella was Australian assistant coach at the 1995 Rugby World Cup, and joined Eddie Jones Australia as assistant coach for the competition in 2003. Jones also brought him into his backroom team during Englands summer tour whitewash of the Wallabies and Ella told the Daily Mail that those defeats will still haunt Cheika.?This is the game Cheiks after. Eddie dominated him big time in June. Cheiks advisors got it wrong and hes probably still having nightmares, said Ella.Eddies a champion at that niggle but Cheiks not scared of him. Hes a tough guy. If he beats England, all is forgiven. It would be one way to redeem a pretty average year.Despite the summer defeats, Australia did beat England the last time the sides met at Twickenham during last years Rugby World Cup group stages. The Wallabies also tagged on victories over Wales, Scotland and Argentina during the competition and a Rugby Championship win over Argentina?at the same stadium.?Australia are going to be really dangerous. They feel at home at Twickenham after the World Cup - theyre comfortable. On their day, they can beat anyone.Jones and Cheika have exchanged words ahead of the game, but Ella insists a coach shouldnt react to everything said about them. One such instance Ella mentioned was the depiction of Jones as a clown in a New Zealand newspaper in the build-up to Australias clash the All Blacks. Even so, he feels Cheika stating that Ireland were the best team in the northern hemisphere will have caused Jones some upset.Cheika reacted too harshly to the clown thing. You cant bite at everything that happens otherwise youre going to die of a heart attack. Sometimes he just got a little bit caught out. Youve got to pick your time to go off.By saying Ireland are probably the best team in the northern hemisphere, he would have upset Eddie a little bit. Hes a very passionate coach and the players love that. For the first six or seven Tests, Cheika was all over the place with selection. Different back rows, different second rows... Now hes got a lot more consistency on this tour. Nor did he have any knowledge of alleged incidents in the 80s and 90s. He has consistently testified as such. Any assertions to the contrary are false. He was hired as the defensive coordinator at UCLA before the 2015 season. Before being hired at UCLA, Bradley went through an extensive vetting process, according to UCLA coach Jim Mora.I know this about Tom: He is a man of integrity, Mora told ESPN.com at Pac-12 media days on July 14. Hes been vetted by a number of different people as well as UCLA -- very, very thoroughly. It took us a long time to hire him because our university takes these things very seriously. So we went through the process of vetting his background and his stories and he made a statement and he stands by that statement and I stand by him. I feel comfortable with that. ' ' '
