KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Kalamazoo police say they have made an arrest in Thursday nights shooting of a Western Michigan University student at an off-campus apartment.In a news release, police would not identify the suspect, who was arrested about 4 p.m. Friday. Police identified the victim as 19-year-old Jacob Ryan Jones. Earlier in the day, police said the victim was 20 years old.Police said the suspect was in custody for open murder, home invasion and armed robbery and could be arraigned on Monday.Earlier in the day the universitys athletic director, Kathy Beauregard, said that a current student-athlete had been suspended after being identified by police as a person of interest in the shooting. She didnt identify the student-athlete or the sport the student participates in.Police did not say if the suspect in custody is a student. Nor did they say if a second person they were still seeking in the shooting is a student.Police said that officers responded to a residence shortly before 10:30 Thursday night and found the body of the victim.
