The hearing of the matter regarding the BCCI not implementing the Lodha Committees recommendations in total, as directed by the Supreme Court, has been rescheduled from December 5 to December 9. It was reported that the Chief Justice of India, TS Thakur, who is part of the bench hearing the issue, was unavailable. The Supreme Court had last heard the case on October 21, when it passed an interim order asking the BCCI to stop disbursing funds to state associations until the association gave a written resolution that it would adopt the Lodha Committees recommendations. BCCI president Anurag Thakur and secretary Ajay Shirke were also required to submit an affidavit of compliance in the court by December 3, elaborating on the recommendations already implemented by the board and the steps taken to persuade the state associations to adopt the recommendations in total.Since the previous hearing, the Lodha Committee submitted its third status report in the Supreme Court and once again recommended that the BCCI and state office bearers who did not meet the eligibility criteria laid out in the recommendations be removed immediately. It also recommended that GK Pillai, the former home secretary in the federal government, be appointed an observer of the BCCI and that he oversee the boards financial transactions. The BCCI, however, remained firm in its stance that it could not force the Lodha Committees recommendations on its state associations, and that a majority vote was needed to pass them. At several board meetings, the states had voiced opposition to most of the Lodha Committees recommendations: in particular, the one-state-one-vote policy, the age cap for office bearers, and the limits on tenure. The Lodha Committee - comprising former Chief Justice of India RM Lodha and retired Supreme Court judges Ashok Bhan and R Raveendran - was formed in January 2015 to determine appropriate punishments for some of the officials involved in the 2013 IPL corruption scandal, and also to propose changes to streamline the BCCI, reform its functioning, prevent sporting fraud and conflict of interest. In January 2016, the committee released its report, which recommended an exhaustive overhaul of the BCCIs governance and administrative structures. On July 18, the Supreme Court approved the majority of the recommendations and directed the Lodha Committee to supervise the BCCIs implementations of the same. However, despite the Lodha Committee laying out timelines and other directives, the board has not cooperated because its state associations objected to the recommendations.Chris Devenski Jersey . Here, the honorary life member of the European Tour gives his views on the 41st edition of the contest in Minnesota.Lee Westwood had a really bad time on Friday morning and there is a fair bit of pressure for him now to play well when he next gets a chance. He didnt just lose in the foursomes with Thomas Pieters, he looked unimpressive and out of sorts. I didnt see any part of his game that looked good.As a pairing it didnt come off and they failed to win a single hole, losing 5 and 4. But Lee was big enough to tell European captain Darren Clarke that his form meant he didnt warrant a place in the team in the afternoon, and that he wanted to hit some more on his own the next morning. He put some work in with his coach, Pete Cowen, on the range on Friday afternoon and he will have been stripping things back to basics with the hope of playing on Saturday afternoon.Lees performance hasnt taken away any of the question marks there were over him before this edition of the competition got underway, thats for certain; the doubts there were about him being in a position to play at his best here.Hes 43 years old and you do very well to play Ryder Cup at that age. If this is to be his last one, he would want so badly to at least go out winning a singles match and finishing with a win. That will be massively important for him.So he will be telling himself its just one sesssion -- anyone can have a bad day and be good the next.dddddddddddd Hes experienced enough to shut out all the pressure and the stuff that goes on outside the Ryder Cup and concentrate on playing well next time out.Its fair to say Lee would have had to be really disappointed to drop out of two sessions, but it is a measure of what a team player he is that he volunteered to do that for the good of the European cause. For me, he doesnt need to prove anything as a Ryder Cup player after all that he has done. Hes played in seven winning teams and this is his 10th appearance in the competition. At least he will have taken something from the positive mood there would have been in the European team room at the end of the day. They will have been thinking they did really well to get back to 5-3. After the 4-0 whitewash in the morning, coming back like that was incredible.A bad afternoon would have meant the match was completely over for them. But Darren [Clarke] gave them a good talking-to at lunchtime and they came out with renewed vigour, and played some pretty good golf. There is everything to play for now but Europe really have to keep the hammer down in the foursomes on Saturday. They will have to be at their best against a very good American side because if the U.S. are given an inch, they will take a couple of miles.Mark James was talking to Leo Spall ' ' '
